The Swiss Air Force has certified the Sonaca 200 Trainer Pro for the initial aptitude assessment programme called “SPHAIR”. The objective of the SPHAIR programme is to discover and assess young talents for a career as a pilot in the Swiss Air Force or general aviation.

On Saturday, September 7, AYJET, the approved training organization and flight school based in Istanbul (Turkey), received its first Sonaca 200 Trainer Pro. This was the first of the six Sonaca 200 ordered by AYJET in August 2018.

Air Academy New CAG has confirmed its order for 4 additional Sonaca 200s

- Sonaca Aircraft will mark the digital shift by offering the Sonaca 200 Trainer Pro, a connected and intelligent plane
- The delivery of the first two Sonaca 200 Trainer Pro aircraft is scheduled in June 2019


Jacques Bodart is closely linked to the Sonaca 200 certification program. He was the one who carried out the second phase of the flight tests, namely the plane’s spin tests.

As a specialized stakeholder in the management and operation of private jets, ASL operates personal and "charter” flights in Europe. In conjunction with the company JetNetherlands (takeover in 2014), ASL has a fleet of 30 aircraft ranging from 4-seater to 30-seater jets.

Taking off from Temploux Aerodrome in Namur this autumm is the Sonaca 200 training aircraft - a new single-engin, two-seater plane destined for the flight school and leisure market. It's the first time in decades that a Belgian aerolplane has bee launched.

On Friday the 24th of August, I had the opportunity to perform a test flight in the Sonaca 200 with Pierre Van Wetter. Pierre and another colleague have been involved in this pro-ject since day one. He is currently responsible for sales and marketing. Pierre received his masters degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Liège.
